Caring for end grain cutting boards
A handmade end grain cutting board can be a lifelong kitchen mainstay - keeping knives sharper, offering a hygienic and durable surface, and looking great doing it!
To get the most out of your board here are few important tips:
Never soak or submerge your board in water, or place in the dishwasher.
Instead, hand-wash with warm, soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.
To help maintain water repellency and prevent the board drying or possibly cracking, apply food-grade mineral oil, or a mineral oil and beeswax combination like our Board Conditioner, to the surface periodically. First clean and dry, then apply paste with a soft cloth. Run into the surface and wipe off any excess.
